An Award and A Birthday Present!

Carol nominated me for the Special Friends Award and "Love" Pendant. The description for this award reads "These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these kind of writers. When you pass this award along please include these guidelines. I am to choose eight friends to share this with".

Carol and I have first met through Hooked on Exchanging and began communicating and since then we have shared much time visiting about all sorts of things stitching and home life. Thanks very much for the award Carol.

My nominations are people whose blogs and stitching inspire me and have thus become friends are:

1. Patti
2. Rita
3. Kath
4. Julie (no blog)
5. Lori U. (no blog)
6. Lynne W. (no blog)
7. Brenda M. (no blog)
No. 8 goes back to Carol!

I am in a birthday exchange with Rita, who lives in Hungary, on the Crazy Exchange group and my birthday present arrived yesterday and I just love everything Rita sent. The pinkeep is absolutely adorable and I just love the saying on it. Rita said this was her first pinkeep and she did an amazing job on it. Rita also sent some cappuccino, bon bons, ribbon, thread rings, and a bookmark. A really wonderful package. Thanks so much Rita!

Hi Wendy Jo, Thank you so much for nominating me for this award I am really really touched by it and very grateful. I love what you got for your birthday - why don't you have your birthday on your blog then I could have sent you something. I still can - I shall write to you for your address. I love the pinkeep and especially what it says - I could usually kill for coffee and according to my dh I am a coffee snob and I will admit to this - I only like fresh coffee and never instant and I blame my cousin Julie for this although she now drinks instant. I loved your package that you got too. Rita certainly did you proud. And finally thank you once again so much for the award. Lots of Love Patti xxx

This is my second time visiting your blog, first time commenting.
I'm writing from Massachusetts. I am new to the world of stitching and have been browsing various blogs to try and gain some knowledge and get some tips / ideas. I originally started with a stamped, then counted “kits”. I’m working on my 2nd chart and have noticed some big differences in floss types and quality.
My Cross Stitch Mentor has told me that I’m ready to graduate from Aida, but I really like Aida. Maybe it’s just beginner’s comfort???
If you would answer my question… What type of fabric or fabrics do you prefer and why? Brands and counts?
I would appreciate any advice, thanks!
